Dr. John Lefebre is Vice President, Senior Technical Global Medical Director at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. In this role, he provides strategic guidance to Â鶹ÊÓƵ¡¯s global teams on complex medical issues. He draws on more than 25 years of insurance medicine to provide advice on medical issues affecting claims, underwriting, medical marketing, product development, and pricing.
Before joining Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2006, Dr. Lefebre served as Chief Medical Director with two other reinsurers.
He gained extensive clinical experience in teaching hospitals in Halifax and Toronto and later practiced clinical medicine in Toronto, where he was the Associate Director of the MDS and then a member of the Medisys executive health care program.
Dr. Lefebre completed his medical training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton and completed his post-graduate residency at the University of Toronto in Ontario. He is a member of the Canadian Life Insurance Medical Officers Association.
